my fav exchange when i was teaching elementary schoolers a few yrs ago:

student: “are you gay?”
me: “yeah, i like boys & girls.”
s: “oh, so you’re mediocre.”
m: “what?”
s: “that’s liking boys AND girls. my sister is mediocre”
m: “……do you mean bisexual?”
s: (shrugs) “maybe.”
