Ok french friends, since we may have differences about restaurants (and potatoes) we all clearly love food, and feeding people. I just gave 100€ to @restosducoeur — who will stand with me? comment or retweet with your gift! (cc: @SebdLaporte) Give here-> https://t.co/Q9qiRwCzHA pic.twitter.com/I11mP4wVrB

🧵ok, so, we’re vacationing in France, and were looking for a place to grab some dinner this evening, and melissa found the most amazing place… @La_Pataterie, a french chain focused on potatoes as a main course. AND IT WAS AMAZING (cc @darth) 1/8 pic.twitter.com/yIZ2WYqdWl

No seriously, they have some other stuff (burgers, steaks and desserts) but the main focus is potato. They have 4 entrees that are literally just a baked potato and important accoutrements. AND IT WAS AMAZING. full menu here: https://t.co/hHgXH97smy 2/8

It was our first time, so naturally i had to go for “Classiques Pom’s” (sic, i think?!). I got the Pom’ Au Four Savoyarde (i am just realizing the apostrophe is for a contraction so maybe that’s not a typo). ANYWAY. BEHOLD. 3/8 pic.twitter.com/F4wwXy93kl

That’s a giant-ass baked potato, but a GLORIOUSLY baked one. And I don’t know what type, but guessing something like a giant yukon gold steamed and baked to creamy, tender, but still with structure perfection. I peed when i bit into it. There was a descending choir of angels. 4/8

The angels were singing “Bonnie and Clyde” by Serge Gainsbourg and Bardot. Seriously this was the greatest potato ever made by human hands, and we got it at what I have to assume is the french equivalent of a “Chili’s”. Words cannot express my amazement. LOOK AT IT AGAIN. 5/8 pic.twitter.com/o6jkv8uwKG

Anyway, i don’t understand how a chain baked potato could be so much better than every other baked potato I’ve ever had, even aside from the ham and gruyere on it. And the side pot of raclette. And the creme fraiche with herbs. Two other dried porks. AND FUCKING CORNICHONS 6/8

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL. Melissa got an Amandine Bowl which had a FREAKING DISK OF CHEVRE WITH HONEY BAKED ON A POTATO WAFFLE. And, of course, delightful potato amandine croquettes. and some salad, AND APPLES WHICH ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR ROSH HASHANAH. 7/8 pic.twitter.com/pX5x3JKRSO
